TOUR TO THE MOUNTAIN OF 7 COLORS VINICUNCA

Discover the incredible landscape of the Mountain of Seven Colors in Cusco (Vinicunca)! This mountain is located in the Andes region of Peru, near the city of Cusco and is famous for its incredible views and landscapes, known as the mountain of 7 colors or Vinicunca Mountain. This tour is ideal for those who want to enjoy nature at its best. During your visit you will have the opportunity to admire the variety of landscapes, from emerald green to intense red, observing the different clay soils that give it that shade of yellow, blue, violet and brown colors.

Itinerary

Remember!

  • This incredible adventure begins very early in the morning. We will pick you up at your hotel in the historic center of Cusco in the early morning and we will begin a journey towards the South Valley; It will be a 2-hour journey until we reach Cusipata and from there we will continue the journey along a motorable trail to the town of Phulawasipata for 1 more hour.
  • The town of Phulawasipata is located at 4,626 meters above sea level (15,177.17ft) and it is from there where we begin the walk that will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes along a beautiful stream. Let yourself be captivated by the path and its fauna, you will see groups of herds of Andean camelids such as llamas and alpacas; If you are lucky, maybe you will be able to see the Andean cat. Get your camera ready! The great snow that you will see is the highest in the region, the “Apu Ausangate”, its majesty and mystique will remind you that you are in a unique and magical place. During the journey, you will be able to interact with the community members of the area, learning a little about their daily lives; You will see various crop fields that are worked in the area, especially potatoes and their different varieties.
  • After the 1 hour and 30 minute walk, you will be surprised by the wonderful view of Vinicunca, The Rainbow Mountain (5,020 masl / 16466ft). Take out your camera to record this moment! You will have enough time to explore the area, take photos and also take a break to renew your energy (approximately 30 minutes at the top).
  • When the time comes to begin the descent along the same ascent route, the return walk will take approximately 1 hour to reach the place where the return transportation will be waiting for you.
  • After 1 hour of travel, we arrived in Cusipata for lunch. Later, we will continue the return to Cusco, arriving after approximately 2 hours. You will be back in Cusco at the end of the afternoon.
