Prepare your camera!

  • We will pick you up from your hotel in the historic center of Cusco to take you to the starting point of the trek to Machu Picchu.
  • You will be surprised by the natural beauty of the surroundings and impressive landscapes, cloud forests, archaeological sites and the diversity of our flora and fauna.
  • You will enjoy an impressive world-class tour, at the end of this 4-day trek to Machu Picchu you will have in your memory the most incredible landscapes, places and adventures that will accompany you for the rest of your life.

Itinerary

The best is yet to come!

  • Day 1: Cusco – Huayllabamba
    • We will pick you up from your hotel in the city of Cusco. We will head towards Piscacucho, located 45 minutes away, at km 82 where you will begin your walk towards the Inca Trail.
    • We will continue our excursion at a relatively slow pace along the Urubamba River, until we reach the archaeological site of Llaqtapata. The walk will take approximately 6 hours. Upon arrival you will have a spectacular view of the citadel of Machu Picchu.
    • Afterwards, you will enjoy lunch around a beautiful setting.
    • After a rest, we will continue the walk through the lateral valley that begins to gain altitude until we reach the last town of Huayllabamba.
    • We will arrive in Huayllabamba and begin preparing for the camp.
    • Activity details:
      • Maximum Altitude: 2954 masl / 9694 ft.
      • Minimum Altitude: 2670 masl / 8761 ft.
      • Camp Altitude: 2954 meters above sea level/ 9694 ft.
      • Walking Time: 5 -6 hours.
  • Day 2: Huayllabamba – Pacaymayo
    • You will wake up and have a healthy breakfast.
    • Then, we will begin the walk to Warmiwañusca, the highest point of the walk located at 4200 meters. From there you will have an incredible view of the Andean mountain range. This day will be the most intense, so we recommend you bring energy drinks.
    • Afterwards, you will continue the journey to the Huayllabamba Valley where you will enjoy the panoramic views and the different ecological changes of the mountains.
    • After the ascent, you will enjoy a snack to continue the excursion until you reach Warmiwañusca Mountain.
    • From here we descend for approximately 2 hours into the valley to our next camp located in Pacaymayo.
    • We will arrive at Pacaymayo and get ready for camp.
    • Activity details:
      • Maximum Altitude: 4226 masl / 13866 ft.
      • Minimum Altitude: 2954 masl / 9694 ft.
      • Camp Altitude: 3500 meters above sea level / 11480 ft.
      • Walking Time: 6 – 7 hours.
  • Day 3: Pacaymayo – Wiñaywayna
    • This is the most diverse day. We will begin in the morning with the ascent through the archaeological site of Runcuracay, located at 3900 Mt.
    • We then descend the other side for approximately 2 hours to the beautiful Sayacmarca archaeological site.
    • After having explored this unique place, we continue on the original stone path of the Incas through the semi-tropical cloud forest of Phuyupatamarca, located at 3800 Mt.
    • From here we will have spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks and the valley. From this point, the road will be downhill to our camp in ‘Wiñaywayna’, one of the most beautiful places in the area due to its construction and surroundings.
    • We will arrive at Wiñaywayna and start camping.
    • Activity details:
      • Maximum Altitude: 3974 masl / 13039 ft.
      • Minimum Altitude: 2729 masl / 8954 ft.
      • Camp Altitude: 2650 masl / 8692 ft.
      • Walking Time: 8 hours.
  • Day 4: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU-CUSCO
    • Early after a tasty breakfast, you will begin the walk and after a 2-hour journey through the cloud forest to the famous Intipunku Sun Gate, we will have the first impressive view and the best panorama of Machu Picchu.
    • After freshening up a bit, you will begin the tour of Machu Picchu, learning the history and mysteries of this Sanctuary, which is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
    • With the freshness of the morning weather and the energy that is felt from the impressive landscapes everywhere, you will be able to take incredible photographs.
    • Finishing your visit inside the Citadel, we will descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have time for lunch.
    • Finally, at 4:12 pm You will board The 360° Machu Picchu Train for your return trip to Ollantaytambo.
    • You will arrive in Ollantaytambo around 5:50 pm and from here you will be transferred to your hotel in the historic center of Cusco.
    • Activity details:

      • Altitude of Machu Picchu: 2400 meters above sea level / 7872 ft.
      • Walking Time: 2 hours

Prepare for your activity

Remember!

  • Recharge the batteries of your camera or cell phone to take the best photos and videos from the moment you are on the train.
  • The hike is at altitude so make sure you are comfortable.
  • Take into account that very early in the mornings, afternoons and evenings, the weather is cold and during midday until early afternoon it is hot.
  • Share your experiences so that more people are encouraged to live it! Good things are shared!
  • Bring current identification documents because many archaeological sites require them at the entrance.
